Harley-Davidson have this week introduced the world to the electric hog, the LiveWire electric motorcycle. Currently a concept bike Project LiveWire is touring America at the moment, gauging the response of enthusiasts all over the country.
Presented for your viewing pleasure is the worldwide introduction to the LiveWire, the Harley for the electric generation. Sit back, relax and prepare to toot your own horn a lot.
The all electric LiveWire motorbike crams in a 74bhp electric motor and carries a total weight of 460 pounds. This combines to produce a 0-60 time of four seconds, not too shabby. The top speed is limited to 92mph by the single gear, apparently at that speed the bike sounds like a jet engine.
In normal riding mode the bike has a range of 130 miles, switch up to sports mode and that number drops back to 52 miles. Once back home a full recharge will take 3 hours.
Harley-Davidson is hoping to have the final design on sale by 2016. Will the electric hog take off? How will the world respond to the whir of electric motors?
