Lego Robot Cubestormer 3 sets Rubik’s Cube Speed Record, Solved in the Blink of an Eye…

Can the progress of mankind be measured in the time it takes us to solve a Rubik’s cube? Since its worldwide release in 1980 this brain busting magic cube has tested mankind, now man and machine have teamed up to break records and solve a Rubik’s cube in the blink of an eye.

Cubestormer 3 has been taking the internet by storm since breaking the cube world record only a few days ago. With the computing power of a Samsung Galaxy S4 driving a monumental Lego Mindstorm creation the record has now been reset to the amazingly fast time of 3.253 seconds.

Presented for your viewing pleasure is the world record run performed by a masterpiece in plastic, Cubestormer 3 in action. Sit back, relax and press the start button to initiate programming.

Some may even remember after the first hour realizing the puzzle was unsolvable and by the second hour disassembling and reassembling had been completed.

Since the first World Record event in 1982 humanity alone has shifted the solve time from 19 seconds (Ronald Brenkman, Germany)  to an wrist wrenching 5.55 seconds (Mats Valk 2013, Netherlands). To further improve that record English engineers David Gilday and Mike Dobson have been building the Cubestormer robots, culminating with the amazing 3.2 second record of Cubestormer 3. A time that literally turns the process into a blur.
