The first refresh of the RevoDrive SSD line since Toshiba brought OCZ sees the new RevoDrive 350 series achieving lightning fast speeds. The larger capacity SSD’s achieve 1800MB/s, making the 350 the fastest consumer SSD available.
OCZ has announced three models in the 350 series. The base 240GB model will retail for $539 USD and achieves 1000MB/s read and 950MB/x write speeds. The 480GB model will sell for $899 and the 960GB model will retail for the bank account busting figure of $1299 USD. Both offer incredible performance with 1800MB/s read and 1700MB/s write speeds.
To reach these blazingly fast speeds OCZ has built the 350 series on the PCIe 2.0 x8 interface, most consumer PCI SSD cards use the slower PCIe x4 interface. Up to four LSI SF-2282 controllers keep the data shuffling around Toshiba’s fastest flash ram.
Power use is low at 9.5W when idle and 14W when active. Other features include SMART and TRIM compatibility and an integrated heat sink.
OCZ looks to be back in the game. The Toshiba take-over had many thinking they may go the way of the dodo, the reality looks to be vastly different. Back better than ever OCZ is once again producing the kit we all want and taking over our upgrade aspirations.
