Chinese shooting star Xiaomi are expanding their TV line-up, adding a new slim 4K TV to their range. The Chinese tech manufacturer announced the new Mi TV 2 49″ Ultra HD 4K Smart TV this week, at the unbelievable price of $649 the Mi TV got chins wagging straight away.
The new Mi TV 2 slim line set is powered by Xiaomi’s custom Android MUI, crunching the numbers is a 1.45GHz MediaTek quad core CPU and Mali 450 GPU. 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage give the Android OS plenty of room to play in. Storage can also be expanded via the microSD card slot.
Other features include a Bluetooth remote with a locator function to help find it when it’s lost. Xiaomi have gone with detached speakers for audio, allowing for a much slimmer TV and more flexible speaker placement.
The Mi TV 2 will be available for pre-order May 27, unfortunately only for China at the moment. With over a million 4K TV’s sold around the world last month 4K is making its mark, TV manufacturers can ignore the new format at their own peril.
